Back on Pacific Standard Time

The upcoming long weekend is shaping up to be cold and rainy: ideal for heading to the Getty to check out an exhibit I've been wanting to see, Narrative Interventions in Photography. I'm particularly intrigued by Eileen Cowin's I See What You're Saying, which juxtaposes images of the written word against those of other sensory experiences -- the gaze of an eye, the taste of a cupcake -- to expose hidden lies behind presumed truths.

While I'm there, I plan to check out the Getty's contribution to the massive, multi-institution Pacific Standard Time exhibition about artistic innovation in post-World War II Los Angeles.

This is a tall order for a rainy Los Angeles weekend during which I'm slated for some home improvement projects, a trip to Disneyland and a first birthday party. Thank goodness we're back on Pacific Standard Time. I definitely appreciate the extra hour.
