My life has always centered around the community of food. I was born and raised on a cooperative farm/arts-and-crafts community in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California, and I once operated my own custom order bakery business. However, these days I cook and bake for pleasure -- and for friends and family.
At my day job I manage communications and training. Along the way I've worked at Alice Medrich's famed chocolate pastry shop, Cocolat; as a buyer for Whole Foods Market; and as an on-air correspondent for CNN Money's The Business of Green, where I had the privilege of interviewing former President Jimmy Carter, the cast and crew of Grey's Anatomy, and the head of environmental initiatives at Warner Bros. I also appeared on the Food Network's Emeril Live! show when my Double Chocolate Buzz Buzz Cookies were named a winner of "Emeril's Chocolate Challenge."
I live in Southern California with my two beautiful and hilarious Weimaraners. This blog is where I share my adventures in cooking, baking and eating (and sometimes random stories and things that I like). Thank you for visiting.
