A Little Tuesday Night Date

Last night we went on a spontaneous -- and much needed -- little date. Over a generous sampling of dishes at Tin Roof Bistro (Spicy Tuna Spring Rolls, Wild Mushroom Soup, Lamb Bolognese with Pappardelle, and The Trifecta: NY Steak, Spinach and Mashed Potatoes, all of it delicious and, yes, much was left over and bought home), we talked about life: who and where we are, and want to be, and how to get there. You know, easy, lighthearted stuff.

Lamb Bolognese with Pappardelle
House made pasta, 12 hour sauce, sauteed spinach, basil, shaved Parmesan.

The Trifecta: NY Steak, Spinach and Mashed Potatoes
12 oz. Sterling natural steak, mashed potatoes with sour cream and chives, Tin Roof Bistro steak sauce, and...

...creamed spinach with Gruyère.

We've had a random craving for cheesecake for days, so after dinner we drove past our house and five miles out of our way to Cheesecake Factory (naturally), where we picked up a slice of White Chocolate Caramel Macadamia Nut cheesecake and cappuccinos.

Somewhere along the way, we may have recited every single line of Ice Ice Baby. From the tops of our lungs.

Laird might also have hit the "drift button" (i.e., turned off the ESP system) in my car and threatened to punish it (until, that is, I told him he'd be on the hook for new tires).

Later, at home, mouth full of cheesecake, he definitely begged me to pry the sugary monstrosity from his hands and throw it far, far away so he couldn't dig it out of our trash.

God, I love that man.

All in all, it was just a typical Tuesday night.
